Immigration Reform and Immigrants at the Local Level

The push for inhumane anti-immigrant legislation isn't just coming from Washington.  Hundreds of anti-immigrant ordinances have been passed, introduced or defeated across the nation.

These ordinances can present real challenges or opportunities for organizers fighting for immigrant rights in our communities.

We've collected resources and information from over 121 towns across the country to provide you with the tools necessary to fight back and move to the offensive in 2007. Here, you'll find an updated database tracking all anti and pro immigrant legislation within the last year, descriptions of the types of ordinances we found, updated maps of where ordinances have appeared, and an organizer's guide to engaging in the local fight for immigrant rights.

UPDATE November:

We've updated our Database and Maps of local ordinances and resolutions. If you have MORE updates or clarifications, please send them to nwells@communitychange.org.

Please contact us with any suggestions for improving this resource – our aim is to continually improve this resource with your help – please contact us with your suggestions or with questions.  Nicola Wells nwells@communitychange.org
