50th Anniversary of the March on Washington

march on washington50 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. led the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. To commemorate this historic event, labor, faith and civil rights groups from across the country will be hosting a weeklong series of events focused on freedom, jobs, peace and social justice.

WHEN: August 21st through 28th

WHERE: The National Mall in Washington, DC

WHAT: Key events include a mass march along the historic 1963 route on August 24th, the Global Freedom Festival on August 25th and the “Let Freedom Ring” commemoration and call to action ceremony on August 28th.
