Senate Expected to Vote Today on CIR

capitol-building-thumb-640xauto-5835The historic, comprehensive immigration reform bill currently being considered by the Senate is expected to be brought to a vote by the body as early as today. A series of test votes throughout the week have demonstrated that the bill is likely to garner more than the 60 votes required to advance it to the House of Representatives. A bipartisan majority commands well over the 60 votes to secure passage, with around a dozen Republicans joining Senate Democrats on test votes on Wednesday.
